Effective 26 July 2026
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Ovati (“Ovati,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information through ovati.io, the Ovati mobile app, support, waitlist and related services.
Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may process your name, email address, authentication identifiers, birth date, birth time, birth place, region, language, family profiles, saved reports, weekly guidance, prayer activity, streaks, reminder preferences, referral and credit activity, purchase entitlement, support messages and account settings.
When you permit location access, Ovati uses device coordinates to calculate local sunrise, sunset, Panchang and sacred timing. If you decline, the app can use a saved profile place or timezone-based fallback.
Family profiles
You may provide birth details for a spouse, child or other family member. Only add another person's information when you have the authority or appropriate permission to do so. Family profiles are kept separate and are used to provide the features you request for that person.
Website preview and browser storage
The weekly-guidance and Nakshatra previews securely transmit the birth details you enter to a protected calculation service. Those details are used to return the requested result and are not intentionally stored by the preview service. The website uses local browser storage to remember whether you joined the waitlist and may keep a small local log of website call-to-action interactions. You can clear this storage through your browser settings.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand anonymized page visits, referrers, device characteristics and selected website interactions such as call-to-action clicks and waitlist conversion. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies for this measurement. We do not send birth details or waitlist email addresses in analytics events.
Waitlist
When you join the launch waitlist, your email address and limited attribution information such as campaign source are sent through our website server and stored in Supabase. We use them to send launch information and measure which launch channels are effective. You can unsubscribe from an email or ask us to remove your address at any time.
How we use information
We use personal information to create and secure accounts; calculate Vedic charts and sacred timings; provide family profiles, guidance, saved reports, reminders, prayer streaks, credits and referrals; confirm Premium access; respond to support; prevent abuse; maintain reliability; and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our service agreement, your consent for optional permissions and communications, legitimate interests in security and product operation, and legal obligations.
Product analytics and diagnostics
The app records a limited set of account-linked product events, such as app opens, completed onboarding or prayer, report generation, paywall views, purchase outcomes, referrals and notification permission state. Event properties are allowlisted and do not include your email address, name, birth details, family details, report text or prayer text. We use this information to understand reliability and improve activation, retention and purchase flows.
Authenticated users may also submit a problem report, and the app may submit an error summary, app version, platform and technical stack trace after a failure. Product events are retained for up to 180 days. When an account is deleted, its product events are unlinked from the deleted account and retained only as non-identifying operational measurements; issue reports linked to that account are deleted.
Vedic calculations and AI guidance
Ovati separates deterministic chart calculation from generated interpretation. App features may send birth-profile details to an authenticated Supabase calculation function. When a feature requests generated guidance, the app sends locked chart facts, report structure and the relevant user context through an authenticated Supabase Edge Function to Anthropic's Claude API.
Anthropic processes the request to produce the response. Ovati stores generated responses in a user-specific Supabase cache for up to 90 days so the same report can be reopened without unnecessary generation. A private AI request ledger stores the user identifier, feature, model and timestamp, but not prompt or response content, to prevent abuse. Ledger events are periodically deleted once they are older than 30 days.
Service providers
Ovati uses service providers including Supabase for authentication, database and server functions; Anthropic for generated guidance; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement; Apple and Google for sign-in, app distribution and purchases; and Vercel for website hosting and privacy-conscious analytics. These providers process information under their own contractual and privacy obligations.
Apple and Google handle payment methods and store billing. Ovati does not receive your full payment-card number.
International processing
Ovati launches worldwide and our providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use contractual or other recognized safeguards and take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients protect the information.
Retention
Account and profile data are retained while your account is active and removed when you delete the account, except for limited records that must be retained for security, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations. AI responses are cached for up to 90 days, AI usage events are periodically deleted after they become 30 days old, and app product events are retained for up to 180 days. Waitlist data is retained until launch communications are complete, you unsubscribe, or you ask us to remove it. Backup deletion may take additional time.
Your choices and rights
You can change location and notification permissions in device settings, correct profile information in the app, unsubscribe from launch email, and delete your account in the app. If you cannot access the app, use our account-deletion page.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Email us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity.
Children and family use
Ovati's spiritual content may be suitable for families, but the service is not currently operated as a child-directed service. A parent or guardian should create and manage family profiles for minors. A person below the age at which they can independently consent to data processing in their country should not create an account or submit personal information without parent or guardian involvement.
Security
We use measures including authenticated server functions, row-level database controls, server-only provider keys and encrypted network transport. No system can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Spiritual guidance
Ovati is for spiritual reflection, devotional practice and Vedic astrology. It does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency or guaranteed life-outcome advice.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Ovati or applicable requirements change. We will publish the revised effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
Questions, rights requests and privacy concerns can be sent to technaski@gmail.com. Please do not email passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary birth information.
